Nvidia CEO and Co-founder Jen-Hsun Huang, took
the wraps off its latest innovation - the Tegra Note 7 reference
platform - at an event in Mumbai yesterday. Huang clearly stated that
Nvidia would not be making the tablets themselves and it would be left upto their partners. Present at the event was Vishal Sehgal, Co-founder and Director, Lava International which is the parent company of Xolo. Sehgal unveiled the first tablet based on the Tegra Note platform called the Xolo Play Tegra Note.

“There is an Android computing revolution underway. Any computing device whether a smartphone or tablet, a TV or in a car, Android has democratized computing,” said Huang

The Tegra Note 7 reference platform has the following specifications:
- System-on-Chip: Nvidia Tegra 4 (sporting the quad-core Cortex A15 processors and a 72-core GPU)
- Display: 7-inch HD IPS LCD display with a 1280x800 pixel resolution
- Camera: Rear camera - 5MP, Front camera - VGA
- Storage: 16GB on-board with microSD card slot. Expandable to 32GB
- Audio: Front-facing HD audio stereo speakers
- Stylus: Chisel and brush tips
- OS: Android 4.1 (to be upgraded to 4.2 over the air)
- Software Updates: Over The Air (OTA) directly from Nvidia
- Rated Battery life: 10 hours HD video playback

The writing tip is small
Two of its main features include the Nvidia DirectStylus technology and the PureAudio technology. The DirectStylus is comparatively slimmer when compared to some we have seen and even the top portion is touch sensitive. The top portion is chiselled and can be used as a brush. When the angled top portion is aligned in line with the screen it acts as an eraser. Removing the DirectStylus from its holding compartment activated the stylus-related apps. Huang also showcased an app which could recognise handwriting and not just English, but also Mandarin.

The Tegra Note 7 platform has the stereo speakers on the sides. The PureAudio technology gives a decent sound experience but we can only confirm all of Nvidia's claims once we test it out.
You can also pair the Tegra Note 7 with a third-party game controller while playing games. The HDMI out on the tablet allows you to connect it to your HDTV thereby giving you a bigger screen to play with barely any lag.
The foldable cover acts as a kickstand
In the package, you will also get a slide cover that flips and bends to act like a kickstand, besides wrapping around the tablet to cover it in closed position. It can be set up in three distinct positions with built-in magnets providing stability.

The pricing of the Xolo Play Tegra Note was not revealed as it is expected to officially launch in October. However, Sehgal assured
